First time I saw a computer was in 1988. It was a kind of scary box with a black and white monitor and needed some weird commands that only our computer teacher understood.
At that time, the computer teacher was an optional subject and I did not opt for it. May be our computer teacher was also responsible 
I bought my PC in 2003. I created my first website in 2004 Oct.
Thus, for most of my life I have written with pen and paper. It is only for last three years that I switched to writing directly on PC.
There are a lot of advantages of writing on computer directly when compared to writing with pen and paper.
- You do not need a paper and pen
- You type once and the article is ready or editing and publishing or storage for quick retrieval.
- You can directly write on blog admin interface.
- Saves time
- Saves paper
- Allows quick search if needed as you are already in front of your computer.
But recently I had an experience which forced me to think again.
Recently a power crisis caused me to separate from computer and internet. So I turned to my old model of writing.
With paper and pen.
I was surprised by the quality and speed of articles I could write.
So I thought on how paper and pen could be better than PC
- You can easily get distracted or carried away on PC with an activity that you do not intend to do. All you need is one click and you are in a different window.
- You always need a computer to write. You may be away from it when an idea comes. Phone is another option but it is clumsy.
- You can quickly create a rough draft than you do on PC. symbols and short hand are great help.
Many people are very comfortable with writing on PC and it is I think more of a personal choice.
Some people like me write faster than they type and for others it is just reverse.
But the greatest benefit I have found is the total absence of distraction that I find with computer.
Had I joined computer education 21 years back, may be my choice would have been different.

I would say PC and keyboard for the win! Although I’ve already noticed a huge difference in my writing skills, but who cares as much when your productivity goes way up over the standard “pen and paper” style? Technology is created to ease simple things of life.
