Webmaster FireFox Extension Review

Webmaster Extension for FireFox simple and easy to use yet very powerful FireFox extension for web masters or developers. It is an addon that has been designed to display some vital information on any type of links. Before I go further let me tell you the sweetest thing about this plugin. It is absolutely free to download, install and use.

To get this plugin, you can go to Download page and click on “Download” button after scrolling down. Firefox would prevent this plugin from being installed. You would have to allow manually. Aftr installation Firefox would restart to complete the installation.

After installation is complete you would get ak W2 icon in your browser’s statusbar. This is usually on right low corner. When ever you visit a page on the web, you need to click this icon t activate the plugin and the tool will start collecting the links on the active browser tab.

It will however skipt will skip all non “http” links (secure protocol links like “https”, ftp and others), it will skip all local links and  it will skip links to Google and Yahoo.

It will also skip links to the IP addresses and image links.

When it finds links it collects and shows info:

• Page rank of the page
• Quality (trust rank) of the domain,
• Projected traffic for the domain according to Compete.com.

Everybody is aware of page rank. Quality and traffic are shown as icons. Trustworthy sites are shown as green tickmark. The details are provided to you on hovering the mouse over icons.

Is it worth downloading?

In my view yes. It tells you about the page without needing to visit it. Good for people who are looking for link exchange and SEO.

I do not do link exchange but I have downloaded it because it enables me to have a look at compete.com rank which I have found is quite a good measure  to know a website/page.

Had it been a paid plugin, I would have desisted from recommending but  because the developers kept it free, why not have a look and decide yourself.
