Business Microsegmentation- How To Apply It To Your Online Business

It is essential to define the target audience for any business. This is also true for online business. If your business operates in a tight, restricted and focused market, it is a privilege.

But may a times a business caters to multiple subgroups of the target market or you want to project a different angle to your business for each target subgroup.

Within your defined market you would want your online marketing action to reach more than are specific group of people.

Or even if you have a tightly focused group, you may want to increase your product range, each focusing on different group.

In such cases you should divide your market into many different ‘microsegments’.

After you have done this you have two choices

- You can decide to cater these audiences simultaneously
- You can prioritize these audiences

If you plan to address different microsegments at the same time, you can do it in many ways.

Here are the popular methods

Multiple Websites

If your products appeals to different subgroup of audiences. You can set up a website for each individual product range.

Different Newsletter/Forums

You can put multiple newsletter options and offering different forums on your site each dedicated to particular audience.

Segment Your Website

Divide you website into different segments based on each groups internet.A link to each area can be placed on the home page.

Multilingual Websites

This option is desirable when you want to cater international populations. Creating a multilingual website would help you to get more customers and establish your brand at the same time.
