I have done few paid reviews in the past as an experiment. While it is easy money, I decided to stop doing paid reviews long time back.
There are many reasons and I want to share my experience with you.
When I decided to do paid reviews, I thought of few things that I would follow. One was that I would take in only products that interest me and would be useful to the readers as well. That I would write honest reviews and provide honest information.
But! I forgot human nature.
Not only I am guilty of taking reviews of remotely related products but also I have committed crime of writing reviews of unrelated products. And then I also did not consider the games that paid reviews play. I should have known.
When somebody pays you he or she would not accept any negative review. After all it would affect the reputation. So ll reviews have to be positive.
I might have been carried away but could not do it for long. I stopped doing paid reviews after a stint of 3 months.
I cannot like sense of deception. Neither I like being deceived nor I wish to deceive anybody. It creates a sense of guilt. I have quit MLM schemes and few affiliate sites working strategy of deception where the aim was to siphon money and make empty promises. There are honest ways to make money.
Paid reviews must have begun on a good note. It was a win win situation for everyone. But with time the principles have blurred and original ideas have faded.
I am still going to write the reviews of the products I find useful and worth writing.
But that is a different topic.
