Adsense has been a major source of revenue for me and it is increasing in spite of taking it off from this website.
I mention this because half of my Adsense revenue used to be from this website.
This was a performing website but I also had some non performing websites which were actually been proving detrimental.
One learns from experience. Advices are often ignored and forgotten.
In my initial enthusiasm, I built up many websites and after putting a few posts, added Adsense to the site.
Initial clicks encouraged further and I added more sites that I could manage.
This resulted in websites with poor content and stuffed with Adsense.
There were total of eight such sites which I was not able to add content regularly.
Today four of them have been closed and other fours do not have any ad on them.
I cannot manage 12 sites equally.
Instead, it is much better to concentrate on few sites and work on them.
Let us get to the basics again
- A site needs traffic to work and because most of the traffic would be organic if you are not into paid advertisement, you need to build a decent content over period before you can expect any decent traffic.
- In spite of all the Adsense secrets and tactics, the major determinant of Adsense money is your traffic. Forget everything else. Foremost is getting traffic. Rest of experimentation can wait.
- If your content is not updated often, your site becomes stale and readers go away.
- If a site is poor in content, you get ads which do not pay enough. Therefore, you need good stuff to get higher revenue per click
- If your one site is performing poorly, you can be smart priced so that your other site’s revenue per click is affected. Thus every time you add a site that performs poorly, your revenue from other sits may be affected.
Therefore, what should be the strategy to add new sites.
I have read about it but I did not follow. I have experienced this now and therefore can say it confidently.
First create a website rich in content and let it get good traffic. Do not add Adsense ads until you have a good number of visitor say 500-1000.
If you add Adsense ads before that your site looks ad oriented and people do not like it.
Instead, keep building content.
When you do, add your Adsense ads one at a time.
Do not publish all of them simultaneously. Let your visitor get used to the concept. You can later add other units.
A large rectangle is most performing unit. It is always a good start.
What is the use of this?
When you add your Adsense ads, they start performing decently. This would give you a jump in the revenue and also protect you against being smart priced.
All it takes is about 4-6 months of content building without expecting any revenue.
That dry period would be covered in very first month.
Next time you expand your Adsense site network, do give it a try.
