Google Introduces Ad Display Network

Google has just expanded its reach on advertisers. And it means more revenue generating  opportunities for Adsense publishers.
Google has now created an umbrella  name for all these properties, the Google Display Network which would deal with all kinds of advertising under Google.

The Google Display Network will comprise all of the sites where advertisers can buy ads through Google which includes

  • AdSense
  • DoubleClick Ad Exchange
  • YouTube
  • Google Finance
  • Gmail
  • Google Maps
  • Blogger.

What Does This Mean For Adsense Publisher?

As an AdSense publisher you’re already part of the Google Display Network.  Therefore no action is required. However, just to make things clear, AdSense for search ad space won’t be part of the Google Display Network.

What Would This Mean?

Google is going heavily after display advertising where the Google Display Network offers all ad formats – text, image, rich media, and video ads. And this would mean that Adsense is just not text based ads any more. Adsense blog says in fact is encouraging Adsense publisher to opt for receiving image ads to make full benefit of the network.

Let us see how things turn out.
