As internet marketer we tend to accomplish a lot of stuff in any given time. When I read about multitasking I became an instant disciple of it. But it has often proved to be counter productive.
Multitasking is a good concept but if you apply it in every single job you do, it bogs you down. Your attention becomes divided and your energies are concentrated poorly on every single talk you do.
I has often resulted in combined delaying of the projects often a lot more than when done individually.
And the quality suffers as well.
What Is The Best Way of Doing Things Then?
In short and straightforward answer, it would be – By doing one thing at a time.
When you solely focus on one thing, your mind has undivided attention paying to it rather than thinking subconsciously of the other stuff. You give one project hundred percent energies.
Driving and talking on mobile is multitasking but statistics show it is dangerous.
You might say that it is not dangerous to check your email while you eat your food.
Yes! It is not and I have done it enough to know that it is a big health hazard.
When you write an article, do not get tempted to open a load tabs to save time.
My experience says you waste a lot more in checking whether page has loaded properly.
Good actors take do one movie at time. They get into the mould of character, deliver the performance we awe at and only then move forward.
Doing one project at one time is the way to early and long term success.
If you are working on 4 things at one time and let us assume that each of that task would take around 5 days to complete, doing all the tasks to completion would require 20 days.
Let us assume that each task was to benefit your business.
In former case, the business benefit would start after 20 days whereas in later case it would be after 5 days and then getting added every 5 days.
I now try to follow a simple routine of completing one task first before moving to next. I am not successful every time but things are improving.
How do you manage your work? Do you multitask or focus at one thing at a time?
