There comes a moment in our life when we think we cannot keep going. However, those are the most essential moments to stay put. We might be about to succeed.It is a story about a person who succumbed to failure when he almost reached near success because he decided to quit.
This story is about Pratnvas, a man who failed because he stopped walking th road to success. At some point of time each one of us can relate to this story. We do go through similar phases in our life.
Therefore interpret carefully.
Pratnvas was a poor blind man who worked very hard to earn his daily bread for himself and his family. He worked for the village lord for a wage that kept them surviving but never let them enjoy. (most of jobs and wage are like that). He was a talented man but the man he worked for did not pay him well.
Everytime he would get a salary Pratnvas would feel as if he was wasting his life over there..
He desired a good house, fine clothes and other comforts which only money could bring. But no matter how much he worked, he never could afford the things he dreamed.
Then he thought of going to Maze of Wealth.
A lot of people from his village talked about it. Many doubted it ever existed. He too had laughed it off. But now he considered it seriously because Freitamao, his friend who went, had returned richer now and was all ga ga about this maze.
Pratnvas decided to pay a visit to Freitamao.
The maze was located in a jungle in northeast region and was full of wealth. An entrance would take him inside the maze which is dead dark inside without any visbility. One has to grope to find anything.
?I already do that. That is how I have been living?, Pratnvas thought.
That maze is full of pitfalls. Be careful! Use my tip. Stay along the wall and feel for the door.
Pratnvas did that. He stayed along the wall. Still he could not avoid the falls. He struggled and struggled. A year passed and Pratnvas came back, empty handed…
?You lied to me. There is no door there. It is just a wall all around. No wealth there..? Pratnvas yelled at Freitamao.
?I will have to go back to job and spend my life in poverty? Pratnvas sighed and went for his old master.
He was wrong. There was a door indeed. It did lead to store house of wealth. Only he could not find it.
Only if he knew why did he fail!
Pratnvas would never know how did he miss the door. He had a strange uncontrollable itch that would appear suddenly and last for minutes.. Every time he was close to the door,the itch struck. He would leave the wall to satisfy his itch and miss the door. Then he would start in opposite direction. He would complete the whole circle again to reach the door from the other side and his itch would strike again.
He missed the door many a times. Finally he decided to come back. He stopped pursuing his dreams.
Pratnvas is back to his job now. He works everyday with a conviction that he is destined to be poor. He is no way content but he shows that he is.
Pratnvas will never attempt to be rich again.
Every time you have failed and have an urge to quit, think. The success might be just at arm’s length. Do not let your dreams be prey of that urge.
Beware of that urge.
People become successful because they do not quit.
