Motivation is defined as  the activation or energization of goal-oriented behavior.

In simple terms it is the zeal that makes you work on the activities that would bring good results.

A child working hard to get more marks in the exams because he likes when his peers and parents praise his achievement is getting motivated by the thought of accolades. it pushes him to stud extra hour, cut his sleep and avoid temptations like play and television.

Working Against Odds!

It is easy to get motivated when people tell you that you are on right path and success would come to you eventually etc etc.

But online business becomes a different issue altogether. Most of people do not understand the concept. Still that does not stop them from making judgements.

You might be in your job and this extra toil after you come home may be making your family wonder, what is happening.

They would give you some time after listening to your reasons but when they fail to see the results, they question your actions.

I was lucky enough that I started my ventures when I was in hostel and still alone. I could devote all the time after my hospital works were over to learning the things that I would require. I am not very outgoing person and that helped.

Looking back, I now feel that had I moved on a path rather than exploring things, I would be ahead by a year now.

But it could not have been a different than what it had been. It was more of a hobby. I do not clearly remember when I became so motivated to establish myself  in online world.

But I think it was when I started seeing real money. My first earning was $1.62.

That was quite motivating. All I needed was to shift the decimal to right and add zeroes.

Simple! Isn’t it.

No! Adding zeroes is a tough task.

It involves a lot of hard work. That is where motivation plays a role. It sustains you against all the odds.

Why People Stay Motivated?

Motivation may be rooted in the basic need to minimize physical pain and maximize pleasure. It may also be caused by include specific needs such as eating and resting, or a desired object, hobby, goal, state of being, ideal etc.

Sometimes, it may be attributed to less-apparent reasons such as altruism, morality etc.

What Is The Reason You Are Here?

Why are you in business or wanting to start one? There could be plenty of reasons. But all of them can be grouped into one of these causes.e Let us see

• You do not like your job and want to explore the possibility of making money online and eventually leave your job.
• You like your job but it is always good to earn extra money
• You do not have a job/lost s job and do not want to get employed/not getting employed, so you thought…

Types of Motivtions

Intrinsic motivation
Intrinsic motivation comes from rewards inherent to a task or activity itself – the enjoyment of a puzzle or the love of playing.

If you like what you do, that becomes a cause for working more. If something gives you enjoyment, you tend to come back more often.

While this is a good form of motivation. You need to enjoy your work  to produce more. For example you love writing about gardening and you have a blog which you use to publish articles about gardening.

Because the process of writing tself gives you pleasure, you tend to write often, making your blog stand out

But to turn that blog into business and earn higher income, you need to have other form of motivation also.

Extrinsic Motivation

Extrinsic motivation comes from outside of the performer. Money, coercion and threat of punishment, pleasure are few of the causes of extrinsic motivation.

So you have a good blog on gardening and you want to make a lot of money. This motivation would make you to look for ways you can earn money with that blog.

You would try different ways to make money and eventually see money come.

You share it with your family and friends and they all are in awe. But they take your business seriously now. You are an achiever in their eyes. This becomes another motivation.

So basic rule is enjoy what you do and gear for maximizing revenue. You get motivated enough to win the world.
