Squidoo Changes Policy
I have not used Squidoo for my promotions. You can not do everything in 24 hours even if you do not sleep.
But I have always liked the idea running behind Squidoo. Let us not go into semantics and taxonomy here but the idea of creating an expert page with dedicated content was quite unique.
But down the line, the system got quite exploited and the pages became repititive, spamy or stale because of cheap promotions that people were doing.
But Squidoo has woken up.
Coming 15th July, it is invoking major policy changes that would annihilate many lenspages as they term them.
But you need not worry if you follow general etiquette of good content writing. If you have been honestly building your lenses, there is nothing to be alarmed about.
In fact the Squidoo policy page says
99% of you won’t even notice any difference. If you’re making great, unique, useful, content-filled lenses, I’m betting you won’t have any trouble with these policies.
And if you have crossed the border, you are being given time to rectify the wrongs.
What is Squidoo against
- Spam
- X-Rated or Porn
- Junk topics
- Overly promotional lenses
- Plagiarism

By looking at the things they are frowning at, it seems that they are trying to make Squidoo better and weeding out.
Good for them and good for good lensmasters.
And good for the web.
