I just wanted to add, I use the IMMailer and have found it to be just about top notch. It has an import/export feature like you mentioned and the autoresponse system is perfect. Lets you add an attachment as well. It also generates opt in forms for you with customizable variables. If you want something that is hosted on your own site, this would be a good option! Great post.
