Planning Your Content Ahead

foot-bridgeThis is not something that I have been doing. I never even thought about it. But past few months have left me looking for options.

For past few months, there was a setback to my activities on this.

Because suddenly my life just got busier.

It can happen to anybody. You just do not have the time to write.

Then I remembered the old saying

“Save for the rainy day”.

If you publish a blog, you need to bring up the posts regularly. That is foremost and rest of the promotional strategies are built upon this core need.

Some people do it on daily basis. Some people maintain blogs with twice or thrice weekly frequency. You can do with whatever frequency you are comfortable with  but maintaining a regularity is absolutely necessary.

Unforeseen Emergencies And Exigencies

But the problem arises when you have something so compelling to attend to that you cannot even think leave apart thee writing.

This can happen and disrupt the strictest discipline. A family tragedy, sociall obligation or moving out….

The list can go on.

Suddenly, you realise that you arre not writing and publishing on your blog.

A week goes by

Two weeks…

Three weeks…

Your readers graph sink further and further while you watch haplessly.

What to do?

Plan Your Content Ahead

One of the solutions that came uponto me was that I should write content in advance and publish it with future time stamp.

I used to that when I took planned offs from writing.

But that was for 2-5 days only.

It is not what I am talking about.

I am talking about planning your content , writing it  for whole month or two. I know a person who does that for three months.

Do not look at me like that. Just think about it. If you double your writing, the content would be ready in 1-3 months depending upon how long you want it in advance.

One Month Is Optimum

One month seems to be most optimum time for future content planning. It does not seem a that uphill task.

In my view one month is ample time also to take care of your situation  enough so that you can make arrangements for your blog.

Go forbade, even i it goes beyond that you can look for some alternatives like hiring somebody or buying content without being pressed for time.

The Problem

This cannot apply to you if have a blog that is based on news and fresh happenings. I understand almost all the blogs refer to current events at one point or other but you can plan future content without lloking stale or outdated in most of niches.

The only exception to me seems current event based blogs.

If you run such a blog you need some other option to fall back upon. I might be making groups within your niche so that you can be covered by ohers when you are away.

How do you prepare for exigencies?

Please do leave sugesions.
