Guest Blogging Spam – Beware

There is a different kind of spam or unwanted communication which is filling the inboxes of webmasters. It is about guest blogging and looking at the discussions around it, I am reminded of  “Link Building” or “Link Exchange” spams that use to stuff my inbox.

I have not ventures into guest blogging. Neither I have posted as a guest blogger nor I have invited {or approached} any blogger to post on my blog.

But there are people who do it on regular basis. It was within small circles till now but there seem professional services built for this purposes which charge from the bloggers to make guest posts on other blogs.

While the blogger pays money, other bloggers get spammed.

Ann Smarty has made a detailed post on this and discusses tell tale signs of guest post spams

  • No personalization
  • Boring cliches
  • Evident lies

Here is the actual article.

Do not forget the discussion part. It brings up many points to think about.
