I have never wcively attempted to work on my Alexa rank. There are people who do it and one of the best advisory article that I have read is from DoshDosh. you my go through that i you wish to work on Alexa ranks.
I do not do it because I do not like skewing things by manipulations. I do not say it is wrong but I feel it is futile to game the system even legally.
But that is a eparate issue.
What I want to highlight here is something that I have observed in the recent past. Despite having a constant increase in number of visitors and unique visitors, I am noticing a downward slope for my Alexa ranks.
It is not a sudden fall so I am not sure if a change in the algorithm has caused that.
And the change is conspicuous on all the sites.
I am yet to figure out why it is happening.
Alexa rank in itself is not of any use but advertseers and buyers do give it a consideration when looking for ad slot.
It has not caused any damage to revenue generation but if it keeps falling further, it just might.

I think it is prudent to wait. If still the pages are not being indexed, you can work over link building.
They failed miserably to improve their system this time. My site gameuber.com sits on 521,450 in rank a month ago after a couple of weeks it began to decrease(increase to million spot), when it reached 600,000 in that margin I realize that something was not right as I have been receiving a good amount of traffic I even had an article on that day that hits 2,500 + visitors so I was so happy that it will move its rank but to my surprise it went up to 650,000 in that margin. I was clueless to what has happened?
So I made some further investigation because my site sits now on 696,088 (while posting this comment) and I am very much worried because I checked the next month’s preview it will hit 1,028,697 in ranking and I have no idea why? So I downloaded the Alexa’s Top 1,000,000 Sites in CSV format and I can’t believe it my site is nowhere to be found in the list. I work my ass off to rank my site but to discover that my site is not on the list is the worst thing that ever happened.

Alexa Toolbar installation is supposed to gain you Alexa rank. You can consider it if you think Alexa rank is important.
But how much you would gain is another question. I doubt if it would make a significant difference.

I have two sites where the traffic on one is almost double than the other. But the traffic rank of the former is much lower as compared to latter.

Had the same issue, for around a month my rank was 500k in the world, and almost 100k in the US. Then it drop even though i reached about 100k a month. Now I’m up to about 2.5m but i’m receiving more traffic then i did when i was at 500k??
Alexa system is weird, so i just ignore it now, it has no impact anymore.
Just install Analytics, and if an advertiser needs number, send him a report, are give his email address access.
Alexa ranking really is a not so good indicator of results. If you go their site, they update every three months. The best is to make sure you have good back links to your site. Thanks for the information.
