Ad Tracker - Keep A Tab On Your Ad Compaigns
In Advertising
One of the features that you can use, ad tracker is management of your ad campaigns.
It is difficult to keep a tab on the promotional campaigns you are doing if you are not using an ad tracker.
An ad tracker would allow you to create an overall summary of all the advertisement including current, expired & scheduled campaigns.
Ad tracker would notify when an ad is about to commence or end. This feature enables you to evaluate results of your running ad and make necessary changes to it or review it.
An ad tracker would also let you promote your product at multiple places without creating different compaign each time.
This can be done by creating sub campaigns.
Suppose you want to promote your product in forums, your ezines and a website.
First, you create a tracking URL. You need to do this only once.
Let us say your tracking URL is-
http://your site.com/cgi-bin/c/b.cgi? product
Now, invent a suffix for each place you would like to put your ad oon.
Let us say you have 2 ezines, 3 forum and 2 website that you intend to put your ad on.
Let us assumes suffixes as ezine 1, ezine 2, forum 2, forum 3, website 1 and website 2.
All you need to attach your suffix to your tracking URL.
How you attach your suffix would vary from software to softwares.
Your URL would be come something like for forum.
http://your site.com/cgi-bin/c/b.cgi? product_forum 1.
That is all. Each suffixed URL would act as subcampaign
Your reports would show how many clicks were recorded for each suffix or source.
For example:
ezine 1 - 40
ezine 2 - 52
forum 1 - 63
forum 2 - 79
forum 3 - 82
website 1 - 196
website 2 - 292
This would tell you efficiency of each ad placement without actually creating a different tracking URL each time.
Tracking your ads would result in maximising results of your campaigns. If you are not doing it, start now
