Adsense Adds Images To Link Units

There is a news from Adsense. Adsense has started to put image ads in the link units. These are the ads that a user would see after it clicks a link unit topic. Currently the ad is in bottom of the page that a user hoes to after clicking.
Says Adsense blog

If you use link units, you may have noticed a small addition to the page users see after clicking a link unit topic. We recently added an image ad to the bottom of each of these pages, after our testing showed revenue improvements for many publishers.

Here is a shot

Ad link units bring in goood money as for as my experience tells me. Putting an image to test ads adds contrast to that page and would result in higher click through as for as theory goes. Google aslsosays that it has found in  increase in revenue for many publishers.

Good feature! Let us see. Only time will tell.

These image ads are contextually targeted, based on the link unit topic users clicked to reach the ads.  Thhis has to be there because people clicking in ad topic would be interested in that topic only.

But what if no image is available

If no image ads are available for the given topic, we’ll only show the original text ads — in other words, we won’t show a PSA or insert a blank space in place of the image ad in this case.

Image ad performance can be viewed by generating  a link unit report on  Advanced Reports page, reports blog. But till time of wrting this article I could not find it.

Let me know if you see it.
