Website Creation-Basic Structure Of A Business Website

We are through with our lessons on product creation, domain name registration and choosing a web host.

Next step in establishing an internet business is creating your website.

Your website is your shop on the internet where you would display and sell the products to your visitors.

If you are selling affiliate products only then also you need to build your own website. It would give you edge over other affiliates who are using only mirror sites provided by the product company.

A business website must have following pages as the basic minimum. You can add upon but these pages are main parts of your website where the business would be conducted

  • A Sales Letter where you entice and intrigue your visitors to buy
  • Order Link/Button with link to Payment Processor where your customer can pay
  • A Download or Thank You Page Where Your Customers would be returned after they have completed the payment. (This page would also display the download link to your product which your customers can download the product. Your Product needs to be uploaded to your server and placed in the directory you have specified in your download link)

It is up to you to do the business with just these three pages or add many more. There are many other aspects of website which can result in enhanced features but it is importaant to understand the core first.

These three pages serve as sales medium. Rest of the features are used to attract more visitors but your visitors would not become your customers until they walk these pages.

You will build your website keeping these things in mind.

The approach is slightly different in case of affiliate products. Affiliate products are advertised through the affiliate links which take the clicking visitor to actual site of the product. Then if a visitor decides then he/she would walk through the same sales process as we discussed before. Your website’s main function is to send the visitors to the product website.
A pure affiliate web site does not need to have these core pages as a website that intends to sell its own product.

In the coming lessons we would discuss these core pages in detail.
