Posting and Commenting At Cost of Your Business Growth?

Commenting in other blogs and posting in forums is a well known method to create brand awareness as well as traffic.
But if you are spending too much time on this and ignoring other aspects of your business, your efforts may not be productive towards your business growth.
Commenting and interacting with other people is a good habit. But if you get carried away or become too fascinated with all this, you would be compromising with your business activity.
I have many blogs in my RSS reader that I read almost on daily basis. Always trying to squeeze some more knowledge in, I have commented less than what I should have been.
So I started spending more time on other websites in responding after I read.
After two months there is slight increase in traffic. Remember! Comments provide only minimal and sporadic traffic in routine.
While taking a stock I realized that I am doing less of other activities.
I started missing my article writing. I postponed my other works.
Things need to be repriortized.
If you too are spending less time on your business growth activities and you participate in a lot of discussion, you may be surprised to find the cause.
There are only few hours in a day that you can work upon. You need to priortize your things in a better way.
I am not discouraging commenting and forum discussion by any means. But I have seen people spending the entire day in the forums doing nothing but discussing and discussing.
If you have a business to run, I advise you to spend more time at your website. You should build network, comment on other people but this activity should go hand in hand with other business activities.
I have decided to comment and post only after I have finished my daily checklist. This also gives me a target to finish daily chores earlier.
