Google Wave Project Shut Down

In spite of so much promises, hype and hoopla Google Wave failed to get the user enthusiasm.

It seemed cool and game changing but Google has just announced that it would shut down this project.

In words of Google

Wave has not seen the user adoption we would have liked.

We don’t plan to continue developing Wave as a standalone product, but we will maintain the site at least through the end of the year and extend the technology for use in other Google project

What Is Cookie Stuffing & How It Can Land You In Jail

I came across a story that could shock the affiliate out of you. I would share the story with you in a while. It is related to cookier stuffing therefore let us clarify what does that mean.

Cookie stuffing is also called cookie dropping. Cookie stuffing or cookie dropping is said to occur when a user visits a website and as a result of that visit receives a third-party cookie from an entirely different website (target affiliate website), usually without the user being aware of it.

Paypal Stops Electronic Fund Transfers To Indian Users

EDIT: There is an update on this topic. Please read it here.

I got an email from Paypal which implied that with effect from 29 July 2010, Indian users of Paypal would be able to withdraw their funds only via cheque. This done in accordance with regulatory instructions.

Before this you could  request for either an electronic or cheque withdrawal of funds from your PayPal account if you are an India user.

Paypal says it is working  hard to restore the electronic withdrawal service.

Paypal would also  refund the $5 USD cheque withdrawal fee to you for cheque withdrawals made on July 29, 2010 onwards.

Also there is restriction of $2500 per month.

I remember the time when I had started. Things were almost same at that time too.

Its like going one step backwards.

I hope the issue is resolved soon.

A Good Word On Economy

Consumer Reports says its improving

After all these year, consumer behavior shows that economy is showing  signs of improvement.

This has been suggested by Consumer Reports Index for July.

The parameters measured were job creation, consumer spending [It has risen in the area of personal electronics and major home appliances], decline in missed a mortgage payment.

But there were certain areas where problems still exist like affording healthcare bills and foreclosures of home loans.

Thus there are signs of improvement though in specific areas. Other areas are still lagging behind.

This recovery is far from linear. But rays of hope are refreshing.

Soon Your Actions and Behavior Could Be Predicted

Do you think you know how would you behave in certain situations. Well scientists have shown they can use brain scanning to predict. SO by scanning your brain the science would be able to tell whether people will use sunscreen and the predictions have a greater accuracy than the person himself.

Thus people are not good judges of what they will actually do in a future situation.

This  study has been done by Lieberman and Emily Falk,  University of California – Los Angeles and in the Journal of Neuroscience. [Read more...]
