Four Ps of Marketing and Their Online Relevance
Whole marketing is divided into what are popularity known as four P’s of marketing?
There four Ps are
- Product
- Price
- Place
- Promotion
These four Ps originated in offline world. The four Ps are relevant to online business to albeit in different degrees & different context.
Product
In online business the product is to be thought differently. You have to think of various new factors in relation to products you sell.
If you are selling intangible products you need to work of method of integration and delivery.
There are many formats of products on internet
Info products, info services, software services and membership are few examples.
Price
Price is unique to the product you sell. Because everything is a perception, so you product value would depend on the way it is projected and perceived value of your product.
Price can vary from few cents on ebook to many dollars.
Place
In real world location may play. A hot address would mean more business. But internet where everything is just a click away.
Therefore the address is not as important as in off line world but the address is paralleled by domain names on the internet. A good and hot domain name is akin to having a good address.
Promotion
Internet is pull rather than push medium. You can choose free/pain or both of them.
Viral marketing is another angle to look at it.
Promtional methods on internet have a different angle to look at. The promtion needs to involve people rather than traditional interruption approach by offline methods.
Acustomer cannot be forced to see your ad. Forced ads like popups are in fact considered intrusions.
