Quoting good resources helps to build an air of credibility. You are allowed to interpret the stats for and show it your benefit, but the stats data should not be built up falsely.
Customer first
If you follow this principle, it is difficult to cheat and lie. Create product that would benefit your customers. If you built such a product, your profits would follow automatically.
