An Interesting Story – Importance of Precision

I cam across this story sometimes back. I read it again yesterday and thought I would share it with you.

Ii is an interesting story that highlights the importance of knowledge. If you have the right knowledge you would know what to do. That makes you precise and effective.

It is a story about a giant ship engine that failed. When the ship failed owners called the experts.

Well! Experts came and went, but none of them could figure but how to fix the engine. Exhausted of all the options, the owners of the ship were started getting worried. It was then they came across the knowledge that there is an old man who had been in job of fixing ships since he was a youngster.

Old man was requested to have a look at the ship.He came with a large bag of tools with him, and when he arrived, he immediately went to work. He inspected the engine very carefully, top to bottom.

Ship’s owners were there, watching this man, hoping he would know what to do. After looking things over, the old man reached into his bag and pulled out a small hammer. He gently tapped something. Instantly, the engine lurched into life. He carefully put his hammer away.

The engine was fixed!

Grateful, they asked for the bill. Two days later, the owners received a bill from the old man for ten thousand dollars.

“What?!” the owners exclaimed. “He hardly did anything!”

So they asked for an an itemized bill.”
The man sent a bill that read:

Tapping with a hammer …………………… $ 2.00
Knowing where to tap ……………………. $ 9998.00

Owners understood and sent a cheque for $10000.

I find this story very informative. Not only you should have a skill. you must know when and where to exercise the skill.

Precision is very important for success. Be it your daily life or your internet business.
