July 28, 2007
Transactions on web are mostly done by using credit cards. To process payment on your website, you need to have an online merchant account and provide your visitors secure(SSL) line so that the data they provide is kept safe.
Merchant accounts are special accounts that provide merchants with the ability to accept and process credit card transactions. In other words, a merchant account handles transferring the funds from the shopper’s credit card to the merchant’s bank account.
For a merchant account you have to apply with a processing bank to have a merchant account dedicated to your business. After you get it you are responsible for it in every way. You would need have a payment gateway also which would take the information from credit cards of your buyers and process the transaction and pass information to your bank to complete the transaction. A gateway is generally not included with the account.
Merchant accounts come at quite a price.
An alternative option to accept payment on the net is to use the services of payment processors that do not require you to have a merchant account and carry out the transactions through their own merchant account. They are also known as third party processors. [Read more]

July 24, 2007
After product creation and domain name registration selecting a host is the next important step towards building your Internet business.
If you are an individual who is just starting his/her online business venture I would recommend you to start with [tag-tec]shared hosting[/tag-tec]. But ultimately you will have to decide which is right for you and your business.
In my opinion, for commercial sites, free hosting is a waste of time. Your users are exposed to annoying pop-up advertisements every time they come to your page and you don’t even get a real business URL. No ones going to remember your web address if they have to type something like SomeFreeHosting.com/some_site.
The best method is to choose a cheaper host at the beginning and move up as your business begins to bring in money.
What are some of the things you should look for when choosing a web host? [Read more]

No tag for this post.Web Host-Should You host Your Business Website On Your Computer At Home?
July 23, 2007
A [tag-tec]web host[/tag-tec] is just a server that provides a home for your website on the World Wide Web. It contains your web files as your computer contains all your files. Can you host your website on your home computer?
Technically speaking, you can but should you?
NO.
If you host your web site on your computer, visitors would have to connect directly to your computer to see your website and that’s not a good idea.
- It wouldn’t be secure: Internet is full of threats and unless you spend a fortune your computer would always be vulnerable to all kinds of threats. Security problems are sometimes found in server software, and these can be exploited to gain access to or damage your files. Your computer must be kept absolutely up to date. that is a daunting task.
- If you want your site to be available 24x 7, your computer needs constantly connected to the Internet. Your machine would be working day and night. More strain on your bandwidth.
- It might appear to but it will not save you money. Rather it may cost more in the long run.
- It won’t save you time. Apart from building your business, you would also need to maintain your server.
- You would need to learn a lot about working of a server and things like DNS, web server setup, security, debugging problems, logs, patching the server software. I think you should put that time in use to grow your business.
- If anything breaks, it is your own responsibility to find the problem and fix it. And meanwhile your site would be down.
- You would need to monitor your server all the time. You cannot leave for a project and then come back to find that your site is not working.
Remember! You came into this business because you wish to make a wealthy future and become independent enough to get out of that job routine rut. There is no point in starting a venture that would eat all your time and put you in a constant job again.
You started your business because you wish more time for yourself and your family.
Web hosting companies are professional in this and it is good for your business that you host your site with a hosting company. For a small monthly fee, you can enjoy a good hosting without any attached headaches.
The best reason to host your web site at home is to learn how does it work but for your business it is important to learn marketing skills rather than how a server functions.
Leave that to the geeks. Host your site with a hosting company and concentrate on your business.
Note: Host Gator is the hosting company where my sites are hosted. They are very good and their fee starts from $6 per month. You can also host unlimited sites with them for $10 per month and is backed up by good support system.
If you still have not decided you should check Host Gator.

July 21, 2007
Content of this post may overlap with one of the previous posts. In my other post I tried to explain different kinds of rights. Passage of the rights is unique to internet by virtue of its medium. There are few things that I would like to clarify. First it should be understood that [tag-tec]resell rights[/tag-tec] and [tag-tec]resale rights[/tag-tec] mean same thing. Similarly [tag-tec]master resale rights[/tag-tec] or [tag-tec]master resell rights[/tag-tec] impart the same meaning as [tag-tec]full resell rights[/tag-tec] or [tag-tec]full resale rights[/tag-tec]. What we are looking here at is confusion of the word usage. These terms are so interchangeably used that a new person entering into arena of resell rights marketing is bound to get confused.
Let us go back to basics in resell rights marketing. Resell rights or resale rights mean that you can sell the product further. This is a plain, simple and straightforward meaning of this term and it is very understandable.
Full resell rights go a step further. They imply that not only you can sell the product to a third person but also can authorize that third person to sell the product further along with the rights to sell again. It seems complex in the beginning but it is not. Suppose “A “buys a product with master resell or full resell rights. that means A can sell the product to B and can authorize B to sell the product to C along with the authority to sell the product to D along with authority. Thus every body who buys the product becomes an authority over the sale of that product and van sell and resell at will without any restriction. The only restriction in these cases is that you cannot alter the content. That right is offered by [tag-tec]private label rights.[/tag-tec]
When you buy master resell rights or full resell rights to a product, it means you could give it away, resell it, bundle it, create new information packages or include them in your own membership sites.
Note: At HomeforProfits.com we offer master resell rights on most of our products in member area. If you are not a member yet you should try our site for free by joining here

July 19, 2007
Expired domains are the domains which people register but do not renew for some reason or other. These domains come into open market again and are available for the customers.
It happens so that webmasters invest time, effort and money to promote their site and build up traffic. But many of them move on and are not actively involved in site promotion. There web site is up and running as long as they own domain and pay a hosting fee. Even if there site is not up, all the automatic marketing systems they have put in place still bring in traffic. The site gets regular visitors.
Those domains expire in their due course due to non renewal. If you get these domains with prebuilt traffic, you get a pre-built stream of customers. You can use that domain to build a new web site or use that traffic by redirecting the traffic to your site.
But you need to find a place where you can get the authentic websites with prebuilt traffic and not get duped by buying outdated websites which do not carry any traffic.
DeletedDomains.com is the number one resource if you wish to go to a trustworthy web site.

July 18, 2007
A [tag-tec]web hosting service[/tag-tec] is a type of Internet hosting service that allows you to provide your website(s) accessible via the World Wide Web. Web hosts are companies that provide space on a server they own for use by their clients as well as providing Internet connectivity.
A [tag-tec]Web server[/tag-tec] is computer that is responsible for accepting HTTP requests from clients, which are known as Web browsers, and serving them HTTP responses along with optional data contents, which usually are Web pages such as HTML documents and linked objects. In simple terms it is a kind of computer that allows people to find the files residing in its space when people access it through internet.
TO create a website so that people can visit it, you would need to place your files called webpages on a computer that is connected to internet and would let visitor see your site. July 17, 2007
Web browser is software application that enables a user to display and interact with text, images, and other information typically located on a Web page at a website on the World Wide Web or a local area network.[Source Wikipedia]
Structure of a web page is actually not the way it is displayed in a Web browser. A web page is written in a coded form in HTML, PHP or any other language. Web browser gets this information and formats into the display which we usually see when we visit a webpage. Because of inherent differences in browsers the displayed page might appear slightly different in different browsers.
